I haven't been feeling great lately, and I don't look so good either. I'm drinking a lot more coffee and diet coke. Yesterday, you would have caught me with a diet dr. pepper in my hand- twice- after running out of diet coke.
Even heavily caffeinated, I am still almost falling asleep at my desk.
That's because you wont find me almost falling asleep each night.
After much whining about not having enough time, being too tired, taking a survey of my friend's bible habits, asking advice and then praying, sincerely, for more time and energy to do meaningful bible study, God showed me where I had some time.... in the last place I would have looked for it... in the middle of the night.
About the lastcouple of weeks, like clockwork, he has woke me up- wide awake and alert- in the middle of the night, and directed me to my bible study chair for a good hour to hour and a half. I have finally found a quiet spot... where I would have never looked for it... sometime after midnight.
Look here for more!! Thanks Tyler for this series of God Chronicles!Only be careful, and watch yourselves closely so that you do not forget the things your eyes have seen or let them slip from your heart as long as you live. Teach them to your children and to their children after them.

God does show us things in ways we would least expect! Praise God for your obedience and listening to him...spending time with him. Thanks for sharing and for sharing the link!
Isn't it great to find that 'special spot' for quiet time with our Lord! I have discovered my special quiet - devotional time changes almost from season to season. Since Spring I have been led to my newest 'location' for quiet time with our LORD on my front porch swing.
As I study the Bible lessons I learned as a child, I'm reminded that God's people from long ago had various locations for quiet times - hardly no 2 were the same location.
To sit on my front porch swing and see and hear the beautiful sounds of God's beautifully created nature - I am prompted to God's Holy word - to His Psalms -
My moment on the 'front porch swing' turns into a 45-minute devotional time with our Lord. And, it's ironic - I thought I did not have the time. I also find myself ACTUALLY studying my Sunday School lesson several times a week on this front porch swing.
Also, after time in HIS Word, all of a sudden my prioritized to-do list is no longer a priority - The Lord guides me to a new path of 'things to do' - - things that certainly were never on my 'to do list'. Amazing how God works.
I allow my heart to Plan my way - but the Lord is the one who Directs my path. Prov. 16:9
Unfortunately, I must confess I tend to get caught up in ASKING God - rather than concentrating on PRAISING Him. I'm happy to say as I sit on my front porch swing - - my devotional time is directed into praising God - dwelling on His goodness - His kindess - His Mercy. God is an awesome God. He does not need our praises - but He does inhabit them!
Thanks for sharing - and enjoy that 'devotional - quiet time'!
Hi Bobbie! Thank you for visiting my blog. I've heard the same thing about racoons. Rest assured the photos were taken with the sliding glass door completely closed! I wouldn't even trust the screen... Have a wonderful weekend...
