Still plenty in the pantry and in the freezer that we like, so no spend month has not been difficult or painful in any real way and not the least in the grocery department. For dinner last night, we had Mustard crusted broiled chicken, broccoli, mash potatoes and biscuits. But, as the mister keeps saying, it's only been 6 days. I'm expecting it to get harder. So far, we've spent $22 of the $200 allotted for groceries and neither of us have spent any of our allotted lunch money or gas money.
I've cooked chicken and dumplings, taco soup, potato skins, blueberry pancakes, omelets, oatmeal, Cheddar biscuits, grilled ham and cheese sandwich's, cooked for the food ministry, had a huge watermelon and a cantaloupe and enjoyed brownies from my mother in law and ice cream cake from the neighbors.
Since were not going anywhere, we've watched at least 4 movies on the Hallmark channel, watched 2 documentaries, one about the Grand Canyon and one about the Mississippi River, watched countless hours of HGTV and The Food Network, cleaned the guest room, napped, completed organization of a huge file brought home from work, thoroughly cleaned out the entry closet and the closet under the stairs, created/organized a gift wrapping station, completed the dry wall installation around the french doors, cleaned the brick floors from the dry wall installation (on hands and knees), sat a while on my sister's front porch with her cat who adores me, seriously slept in, fertilized all plants, washed all clothes, sat on my front porch watching the neighbor's fireworks, cleaned the kitchen 118 times (just felt like it was 118 times), caught up on Bible study, delivered the ministry food and visited a while, and walked the dog. Generally, just had a wonderful long weekend.
Only once have I really wanted to go buy something.... an ice cream cone from McDonald's. Husband has wanted two things, both of them chocolate shakes. We resisted.
I'm also spending a lot of time lining up some projects to tackle this month since it looks like I will have extra time at home, with all the free time I'm not spending out shopping or generally spending money.
So, six days in and its clearly not been too painful. Actually been productive.

Wow, great job! That is dedication for sure :)
Good job! And wow, you are busy! :) I wish I lived in a place where groceries were reasonably priced. I cannot get under $1000 per month - impossible. Granted, there are 7 of us...
Great job!! Sounds like you are going to get a lot done this month - good for you!!
