I

...Got the news today

...Might be in denial.

...Cant wear contacts anymore. Ever.

...Very sad

...Looked in mirror and thought I saw Diane Keaton.

...Cried.

...Thought the doctor was not serious

...Tried to talk him out of it

...Discovered that he was.

...Bought really expensive prescription eye glasses.

...Typically do not spend that kind of money on eye glasses.

...Typically go to the nearest one hour, half price, buy one get one, warehouse, discontinued, shop around, last year's style, big sale.

...Had to make sure there was that kind of money sitting in the checking account before I bought them.

...Decided to pick my battles.

...Bought the second most expensive pair in the store.

...Heard this and wanted to see what the other pair was.

...Decided to buy really cheap prescription sunglasses at the nearest big sale.

...Decided I might even buy two sunglasses. And a bathing suit.

...Am still not happy about this

...Am hoping to feel better once I get the new glasses.

I have never worn contacts but I wear glasses every day. I haven't tried contacts because they scare me! I hope you get adjusted to your new glasses quickly....it's not that bad. I bet you look great!

I know exactly what you are going thru, (except I haven't been told that I can't ever wear contacts again) In the past I would probably become a hermit if I had to go out in public with glasses on; but now I am more mature(older) and I probably wouldn't mind wearing glasses 24/7. Besides there are such cute glasses out there now - the dark wide framed with gold or silver studs on them. They kind of replace the look like the "cat" eyewear I wore back in jr.high.

I know you will look fabulous in your new expensive designer eyewear! I should consider wearing eyeglasses more than just at the midnight hour around the house. If I got me some designer eyewear, I would enjoy no contacts for a while (I think)!

Aw! You know, I've always felt that my glasses make or break the outfit. You were right to get a good, expensive, and fashionable pair that you like! You will be gorgeous - and I expect pictured. :)

Sorry to hear that! Some people look great in glasses and I'm sure you're one of them!

Remember - our recent Bible Study - - You will look great! Throw on some of your southern hospitality and you'll continue to shine as you do now. (P.S. - I think Diane Keaton looks great in her glasses !) (Peg)

Oh my gosh, if I didn't know better, I would have thought I wrote this post...

I have not been able to wear contacts for two years. I sometimes will wear them for special occasions, but then I can't read anything because they don't correct that vision. I'm thinking about getting my eyes lazored, and just worrying about reading glasses...right now I have progressives, but they are not much fun.

Luckily, they do have beautiful choices in glasses and they seem to be getting more popular...

P.S. I think Diane Keaton looks great in them too!
