My guy did not win, and I am still a little bitter, but...I've adopted a new rule

Melissa has a new rule in her house....

"This is our President. We will respect the office and position that he holds. We will pray for the office and speak life over the office. It is the system that God intended for our nation and we will pray over that system no differently than we would pray had McCain won, Palin won or Elmo won. The office is to be respected"

It is now the new rule in my house too.

Go read the entire post at Melissa's (it was on November 6, you may have to scroll down)

Amen. I agree with your commitment to pray for him and his staff. Our country needs to turn to God for help in these desperate times and always.

Hey sweet Bobbie, thanks so much for linking me today. I appreciate it.

That was a hard post for me to write, but I meant every word. Let's encourage each other to do the right thing? Okay?

Love to you,
Melissa at Stretch Marks

I just came across your blog.. and I completely agree with you. I was frustrated at first but then made a quick decision that my attitude needed to change. I blogged a post w/ a similar message last week.

I am torn between wishing Elmo HAD won and praying for the grace and strength to respect our soon-to-be new President. God graciously gives us what we want, even when He knows it may not be His Perfect Will for us or our country. I thank God HE is Sovreign, no matter what!!
