Monday Daybook

Outside my window:
The good news is another cold front is here and the high temperature is only 43 today and I love a cold day to stay indoors in sweat pants. The bad news is I haven't been staying indoors and I'm not in sweats, and its been raining for the last three days and its expected to rain for the next three, which means flooded streets, a difficult drive to work and more fluffy hair for me.

What I Wore: (not sweats)
dark blue and white check Banana Republic jacket (via a consignment store for less than $30) electric blue J. Crew wool skirt (50% off on Black Friday)
black cami, black tights and black pony hair Aerosoles heels

I am reading:

I am flying through my reading which had been piled up. No, not really. I have one and a half chapters left in the Nehemiah Bible Study (my Bible Study partner finished this about 2 months ago and has already moved onto the next selection.) I have 1/3 of the required reading for work book left, and the first book my business book club will read is For Women Only in the Workplace, which is a book I was already attempting to finish. Worked out perfectly for me.

I am cooking:

Something possessed me to make roasted chick peas (Recipe here). It was quick, easy and only has 3 weight watcher points plus.  It was tasty and something crunchy. But, I can't see myself making it again.

Looking forward to:

Saturdays. I've got a new routine. Weight Watcher meeting at 7:15a. Grocery shopping at 8:00a and a Weight Watcher friendly cinnamon roll at Coffee Bean Cafe.  I don't know how they make them for 4 points for the whole thing, but they are pretty tasty. I typically cut it in half and have warm from the microwave as dessert during the week.  On Saturday, I sometimes stop at yard sales on the way home from the errands. Once a month, I also meet a friend at Barnes & Nobles (the two person book club). Saturday afternoon usually involves a nap and a date with the husband.

Quote for the day:

"After the wall had been rebuilt and I had set the doors in place, the gatekeepers, the musicians and the Levites were appointed. I put in charge of Jerusalem my brother Hanani, along with Hananiah the commander of the citadel, because he was a man of integrity and feared God more than most people do."  Nehemiah 7:1-2

Around the house:
Camellias are (finally!) blooming! Look at them go! After months of watching and monitoring the buds, finally they flower! and they flower with two different colors on one bush. I'm not sure how that happened. I'm thinking it was a mismarked bush at Lowes. I thought I was buying a red one.

I am confessing:

No spend January has turned into limited spending January with a little update to follow. Unexpected things that shouldn't have been unexpected has popped up.

Thanks for visiting my blog, and being the first to comment now I have moved it all to blogger. Have you tried sweet and salty chickpeas? The kids and I love them, my husband looks at us like we are nuts haha.
