My style.....My history..... My home.....

My style.............. patiently (and sometimes not so patiently) waiting through renovations.

In the past nine months, we've got the wood floors in upstairs.... but haven't got them sanded or stained yet. (Maybe this weekend?)

We got the brick floors in downstairs (I love my table and my breakfast nook!).... but no curtains or pictures up. (See the dog sneaking into the photo? He is such a ham)

My history..... Someone recently asked me if I collect antiques. No, I just use the furniture that others have given me. The sofa table in the foyer belonged to my husband's Grandfather.

That little yellow chair in the foyer was mine when I was a little girl my mother was a little girl.

My home.....Is that duct tape on the door? The hurricane winds were blowing rain through the door. The door was already on the list of things to be replaced (maybe its next?)

AND....my favorite spot in the house is....

Is that mattresses in the foyer? Left overs from last week when I had beds in the dining room and the living room. Just keeping it real, sisters.

My dog..... looks like he is a guard dog, but he is really a cream puff.....

We love how the brick floor brings in the outdoors (something we LOVE doing!) Don't worry about those curtains - we've had naked windows for up to a year trying to find the perfect thing!
Thanks for giving us a little tour!

By the way, we love your little yellow chair!

It sounds like you had a very interesting weekend. I'm all about keeping it real these days and I'm happy to see that you are, too. The brick and wood floors are really beautiful! Someone has good taste...

Keeping it real is the best part. Your dog is precious. I've seen the bricks done at one of my friend’s home and they were so cool. Gave it an old world or Tuscan look.

I love your brick floors. That's something I've always wanted to do. Your weekend must have been nerve-racking with all that wind and water. Hope you're getting back to normal now.

What a cute and fun post! You have me grinning because I have things like this everywhere. I loved your comment about collecting antiques. Ha! All the same, you have created a wonderful sense of style and of a loving, warm home. Your wood floors are going to be marvelous...they already are!

The wood floors are so pretty. Thanks for stopping by my blog. It looks as though we both inherited the same chairs(in your breakfast nook)from our grandparents.

Bobbie, my grandparents had those chairs as long as I can remember and I am 45. They lived in Tennessee. They had these chairs and the table in their kitchen. In their dining room they had a huge table with chairs similar to these. The end chairs in the dining room had arms on them. My brother got those. I remember when I was little and when my children were little, we had to be careful not to flip backwards in these chairs.
